Exploring the Applications of Spatiotemporal Trajectory Data and GeoAI in Urban Mobility Studies: From Metadata Modelling to Mobility Behaviour Analysis Ghent University
Trajectory data has the potential to provide valuable insights into urban mobility but analyzing it in a semantic manner remains a challenge. We aim to introduce GeoAI techniques (i.e., the integration of geography and AI) into trajectory analysis to study the patterns and trends of urban travel behaviours, which will help to inform urban planning and transportation policy decisions.
Happy and Healthy aging in Ghent, an inspiration trajectory. Ghent University
Healthy Aging in Ghent. An inspiration trajectory and strategic partnership where Ghent Elderly, the City of Ghent (An age-friendly city), GRAY researchers and relevant stakeholders come together according to the principle of an empowering academic workplace. The highlight is an inspiration day, planned in Maart 2022, which will be open to all Ghent elderly. The goal? Healthy and Happy Aging in Ghent.

Creating room for socially innovative planning practice under post-political conditionsA metareflexive action research on the daily struggles of a transformative planning office KU Leuven
This metareflexive action research starts from the idea that a critical analysis of depoliticized planning under post-political planning conditions challenges how democracy and the epistemological basis of planning practice can be understood.
The metareflexive action research was structured by starting an office for socio-spatial research called endeavour in collaboration with two colleagues Maarten Desmet and Tim Devos. ...
Spline-Based Motion Planning for Autonomous Mechatronic Systems KU Leuven
In modern industry there is an ever lasting quest to obtain a higher productivity at lower costs. Introducing autonomous motion systems provides a huge potential to make progress in this quest, since they allow drastically improving the efficiency of various industrial processes and tasks, including harvesting fields with tractors, order picking in eCommerce warehouses and container transport through ports. In addition, automation may also be ...
Autonomous Motion Planning in Complex Environments: Focus on Industrial Fitness and Application KU Leuven
This thesis contributes to improving the autonomy and performance of autonomous vehicles in an industrial context in order to meet modern industry's quest for higher productivity and lower costs. Existing deployment of mobile platforms in industry is often conservative, e.g., by limiting their speed or only considering fixed waypoints, and requires strictly conditioned environments. As a result, there is a growing interest in flexible motion ...
Fast optimal motion planning in highly structured environments KU Leuven
The project targets motion planning in 2D complex but highly-structured environments. It aims at developing an automated motion planning research software toolbox that delivers highly performant trajectories at low computational cost, exhibits predictable behavior, and can shape the trajectories to specific application needs. These requirements will be realized through a combination of three strategies: (i) dividing trajectory into ...

Improving patients’ readiness to engage in advance care planning with their general practitioner: a randomized controlled trial Vrije Universiteit Brussel
conceptualized as an ongoing communication process that should be initiated early in the disease trajectory. However, ACP is often still initiated too late, when a medical emergency occurs or the patient is near death. General practitioners (GPs) play a critical role in earlier initiation of ACP. By discussing ACP with their GP, ...
