Revisiting the function and the mechanisms of action of TNF during DSS colitis in conditions of littermate-controlled normalized gut microbiota composition Ghent University
Several mouse studies suggested that TNF protects against DSS-induced colitis. While these studies did not use littermates, a preliminary littermate-controlled experiment showed that in fact TNF has a detrimental role in DSS colitis. This project will aim to re-evaluate the function of TNF in DSS colitis in order to better understand the mechanisms by which TNF affects colitis development.

Transgeneric Migration: Lyricisation of Dutch and Flemish Fiction (1955-1975). Ghent University
This project will examine “lyricality” (Phelan) in Dutch-speaking fiction (1955-1975). Like poets, authors of experimental fiction emphasise the musical quality of the text, focus on speaker’s subjectivity or slow down the storyworld. Literary historiography relates these experiments to the socio-political contestations in the 1960s. I will adjust this view by showing that the lyrical procedures in fiction have diverse functions. ...
