Effects of TLR-ligand loaded leukemic cells and type I IFN on dendritic cell-induced tumor-specific T-cell immunity. University of Antwerp
Quantitative proteomic characterization of cellular targets of withaferin A involved in cancer therapy chemosensitisation in B-cell chronic leukemia cells. University of Antwerp
Quantitative proteomic characterization of cellular targets of withaferin A involved in cancer therapy chemosensitisation in B-cell chronic leukemia cells Ghent University
Drug resistance is well known in chronic lymphocytic leukemia therapy, where multidrugresistant
lymphoid cancers defy the most powerful chemotherapeutics available. In this
respect, there is a renewed interest in multifocal anti-cancer compounds which simultaneously
inhibit multiple signal transduction/survival pathways. We have identified Withaferin A (WA)
as a very effective tumor selective ...
Unraveling the role of invariant Natural Killer T-cells in the immune response to Streptococcus pneumoniae. KU Leuven
Streptococcus pneumoniae is a leading cause of life threatening infections like meningitis, pneumonia and septicaemia and the main pathogen involved in otitis and bronchitis. Pneumococcal capsular polysaccharides are the most important virulence factor of S. pneumoniae. Anti-polysaccharide antibodies have shown to be crucial for opsonisation and effective phagocytosis of S. pneumoniae, thereby providing protection ...
The role of regulatory T-cells and the IL-23/Thelper-17 axis in inflammatory bowel diseases. KU Leuven
ETV6 : the Achilles' heel of early T-cell progenitor T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia Ghent University
T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) accounts for 15% of pediatric and 25% of adult ALL cases and was originally identified as a highly aggressive tumor associated with poor prognosis. Recent studies have identified a subset of T-ALLs whose transcriptional programs resemble those of immature early T-cell progenitors (ETP) and hematopoietic stem cells. Importantly, these so-called ETP-ALLs have strong clinical relevance since they are ...
The function of PHF6 in normal T-cell development and T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia Ghent University
T-ALL results from the malignant transformation of thymocytes and mainly affects children. Recently, PHF6 was identified as a novel tumor suppressor gene in T-ALL at the Center of Medical Genetics Ghent. The aim of this project is to investigate the role of PHF6 in the development of normal T-cells and T-ALL and to unravel transcriptional networks regulated by PHF6
ETV6: the AchillesU+2019 heel of early T-cell progenitor T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Ghent University
Recently, we identified ETV6 as a gene, recurrently implicated in a specific leukemia subclass (ETP-T-ALL). Although ETV6 is a well-known leukemia gene, the ways in which it contributes to leukemia remain unexplored. In this project, we will study how ETV6 functions in normal T-cell development and T-ALL. This project will lead to groundbreaking insights in ETP-T-ALL development and progression.
