The general aim of ULIXES is to unravel, categorize, catalogue, exploit and manage the microbial diversity available in the Mediterranean Sea for addressing bioremediation of polluted marine sites. We intend to provide site-specific collections of highly specialized microbial strains and mixed cultures, novel or improved enzymes, biosurfactants and other microbial products that can be exploited in intensified bioremediation approaches.
