The emergence of god(s) in private Greek papyrus letters

The article studies the growing presence of religion in Greek papyrus letters by looking at the appearance of god(s) in texts from the 3rd cent. BC to the 4th cent. AD. The phenomenon attests a growing tendency to advertise one's religion by employing a strategy of piety.
