Opgraving van een mesolithische wetlandsite te Kerkhove U+2018StuwU+2019 (Avelgem, West-Vlaanderen) : eerste resultaten

Tijdschriftbijdrage - Tijdschriftartikel

From May 2015 till September 2016 a large-scale salvage excavation (8500 m²) was conducted in the floodplain of the Lower Scheldt at Kerkhove (province of West Flanders, Belgium). On top of a deeply buried sandy elevation (levee) flanked by a deep palaeochannel of the Scheldt, well-preserved remains of prehistoric occupations, among which lithic artefacts, burnt and unburnt plant and faunal remains and pottery, were found. The majority belongs to the Early and Middle Mesolithic, while some finds date to the Late Mesolithic and Middle Neolithic.
