Screening, typing and determination of genotypic profile and the oncogenic Human papillomavirus Ghent University
The project involves the detection, prevention and treatment of precancerous lesions and cervical cancer in Congo by 1/ the organization of a network of hospitals in Kinshasa where screening and treatment will be developed through training a team of Gynecologists and cytopathologues cytotechnicians 2/ a study of the cost-benefit of various screening techniques and reliability in the context of Congo 3/ determining the genotype profile and ...
Mobility, inbreeding and fitness in spatially-structured populaties of warblers: an integrated study with genotypic and phenotypic markers Ghent University
This project aims at providing insight into the complex relationships between mobility, genetic and demographic processes operating in spatially-structured populations of warblers. We therefore study behavioural, genotypic and phenotypic patterns and processes in rural and urban populations of Passer domesticus. Research methods comprise mark-recapture, telemetry and analysis of micro-satellite DNA, ptilochronology and bilateral asymmetry.

Blue knowledge: from pheno- to genotypic characterization of marine biodiversity. Ghent University
Marine biodiversity is lost at a record rate. It is therefore essential to understand the diversity of invertebrates based on their morphology and genetic characteristics. The Marine Biology research group is renowned in the research of invertebrates in the seabed and their role in the functioning of marine ecosystems. The renewal of microscopic and molecular instruments is necessary to ensure this high-quality research.
The bacterial populations associated with Populus tremula x alba wild type and 2 lines modified for lignin amount: genotypic and phenotypic characterisation and their potential to increase biomass. Ghent University
The objectives of this project are the study of bacterial populations associated with poplar whether or not transformed for reduced lignin production. Lower lignin contents are important for a more easy and more efficient use of plant biomass in production processes. Plant-associated bacteria have an important role in growth and development of plants
Bacterial populations associated with Populus tremula x alba wildtype and 2 lines modified for a lower lignin production: genotypic and phenotypic characterization and their potential to improve biomass production. Hasselt University
Statistical innovation to integrate sequences and phenotypes for scalable phylodynamic inference. KU Leuven
This project targets the design, development and distribution of Bayesian statistical methods and software to study the historical and real-time emergence of rapidly evolving pathogens, such as Ebola, HIV, influenza, Lassa, SARS-CoV-2, West Nile, yellow fever and Zika viruses. First, we will invent and implement scalable Bayesian phylodynamic techniques to integrate phenotypic measurements and study their correlated evolution with disease ...
An integrated approach of genetic epidemiology and molecular genetics in the study of Alzheimer dementia and related phenotypes. University of Antwerp
From genome to the field: a global study of pathogen genetic and metabolic diversity and its relationship to clinical phenotypes Institute of Tropical Medicine
Characterising the
diversity of pathogen populations is a major key for understanding the clinical polymorphism of infectious diseases. The
past 2 years have brought new technologies
that may revolutionise this field of research as they bring unprecedented potential for global pathogen exploration. On one
hand, economic high-throughput sequencing
technologies allow whole genome comparative analyses ...
