Projects
PhD position - Organic synthesis of fluorinated compounds KU Leuven
The project focuses on the design and applications of reagents for SF5 introduction into small molecules. In a later stage of the work, these reagents will also be applied to radiolabeling and synthesis of analogues of bioactive compounds.
PhD position - Organic synthesis of fluorinated compounds KU Leuven
‘Enabling SF5 introduction: Paving the way toward unexplored bioisosteres and novel PET radiotracers’. The main goal of the doctoral studies consists of developing novel synthetic methodology to gain entry to fluorinated sulfur species. Experiments will focus first on exploring useful transformations, then method optimization and finally synthesis & characterization of representative sets of examples. The findings may then be extended ...
Adsorbents and adsorption processes for fully and partially fluorinated chemicals KU Leuven
Highly fluorinated and perfluorinated chemicals have opened up fantastic technological perspectives, but at the same time, they pose major challenges in their processing, and constitute a severe risk when leaked into the environment. For environmental reasons it would be very desirable to design new, stable adsorbents that selectively adsorb fluorinated surfactants even in the presence of other organics in an aqueous background. On the other ...
