Structuring Dynamics of Peri-urban Landscape Transformation & Socio-ecological Resilience: A case in the Delhi National Capital Region, India KU Leuven
This research aims to address emerging complexities in the peri-urban system, livelihood transitions and contribution of multifunctional agriculture in the context of interdependent resilience of the rural-urban region, in the periphery of Delhi. It aims to advance the reconceptualization of resilient cities of tomorrow, by gaining a perspective on landscape transformations and socio-ecological dynamics. By critically approaching present ...

Properties of plasma during uniturbulence KU Leuven
I will be working on the 'Properties of plasma during uniturbulence'. Recently, we discovered that the plasma can become turbulent, even if only unidirectional waves are present. We need to study the properties in this new turbulent regime. We will compute the energy transfer rate, structure functions, etc. Overall, the goal is to assess in which solar structures this new turbulent regime is occurring, in how far it contributes to heating.
Constructed life. Biography in the New Music Theater in the context of creation, innovation and communication KU Leuven
New Music Theater is often faced with the accusation of being stuck in traditional narrative structures. Still, in many new compositions non-linear narrative techniques of the music, libretto and staging forms appear that go hand in hand with a new attention to and forms of the narration. This phenomenon is to be investigated with regard to biographical narratives using the examples of Manos Tsangaris' 'Karl May' (2014), Mark-Anthony ...
Disaster Governance: Analyzing inconvenient realities and chances for resilience and sustainability KU Leuven

Disaster governance
Analyzing inconvenient realities and chances for resilience and sustainability
A social-ecological systems approach to disaster governance
In many places in the world, people are increasingly exposed to disasters. A few recent disasters illustrate the global magnitude of the problem: the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010, the earthquake, tsunami and ...
Bioaccessibility and digestion of nutrients in Bambara groundnuts as affected by postharvest storage and processing KU Leuven
Indigenous pulses are a locally adapted and sustainable solution that can improve food security in developing countries. In addition, malnutrition remains an unresolved challenge, which continues to be addressed. Pulses are commonly stored for long after harvest. Hence, they are a reliable food source in times of famine. However, upon postharvest storage of pulses, several biochemical reactions can occur as described by the hard-to-cook (HTC) ...
Solving Systems of Polynomial Equations KU Leuven
Systems of polynomial equations arise naturally from many problems in applied mathematics and engineering. Examples of such problems come from robotics, chemical engineering, computer vision, dynamical systems theory, signal processing and geometric modeling, among others. The numerical solution of systems of polynomial equations is considered a challenging problem in computational mathematics. Important classes of existing methods are ...
