Development of new polyolefins and blends for extrusion based Additive Manufacturing technologies Ghent University
In this PhD research polyolefins are investigated regarding their potential usage in the extrusion based Additive Manufacturing technology. Since these polymers tend to have high shrinkage coefficients due to their high crystallinity, tailor-made polymers will be produced by means of melt-compounding low-crystalline polymers with certain fillers. Additionally, various methods to improve the strength of manufactured parts are evaluated.
