Functional in-vitro ligand binding and in-vivo imaging of the opioid- and serotonine-receptorsystem in function of pain management in dogs Ghent University
Study about opioidligand-binding on opioid-receptors (u) in the central nervous system to evaluate the specific distribution and density of the u-receptors in dogs. Therefore, a specific opioidradioligand will be developed, followed by imaging of opioid- and serotonine-receptorbinding by SPET. Finally the influence of the administration way on binding will be examined.
Somite development in 3D in-vitro synthetic microenvironments. KU Leuven
Somite development in 3D in-vitro synthetic microenvironments KU Leuven
Skeletal muscles, vertebrae and the dermis are formed from the somites, embryonic structures whose development is particularly complex and dynamic. While much has been learned from animal models, a number of aspects of somitic development, particularly in the human context, remain unknown. To this day, there is no realistic model which captures the complexity of this process invitro. The lack of a human model has prevented us from achieving a ...
Sabbatical Eleonora Ferraris: 3D printing for bioelectronics interfaces and in-vitro devices KU Leuven
This sabbatical period aims at investigating and exploring the use of multi-material additive manufacturing solutions, with focus on jet printing, for the development of in-vitro platforms, such as lab-on-chip, tissue on-chip, 3D cell culturing, etc. for tissue engineering and preventive medicine applications, like in-vitro diagnostic, in-vitro study, drug testing, development of personalized treatments, regeneration of patient-specific ...

Towards Mimicking the Foetal Liver Niche: Engineering 3D Hydrogel Systems for in-vitro Culture of Hematopoietic Stem Cells KU Leuven
Within my PhD, I will be working on the development of 3D culture systems for the in-vitro culture of hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells (HSPCs), which are a small population of stem cells giving rise to all blood cells during the lifespan of the organism. These 3D culture system will be designed to mimics key biophysical and biological features of the fetal liver (FL) niche, the home place of these stem cells during mammalian development. ...

In-vitro Paraxial Mesoderm Morphogenesis in 3D Artificial Extracellular Micro Environments KU Leuven
Paraxial mesoderm plays a significant role in somitogenesis, which further gives rise to skeletal muscle, tendon, cartilage and skin. In vitro studies have been mainly performed in 2D culture; however, this system can be overly reductionistic and disregards the complexity of the physiological structures, including multicellular interaction and the interaction between cells and extracellular matrices (ECM) . By utilizing 3D organoid culture ...
