Mouse housing and micorscopy platform for cardiovascular and antibody-based research

In this application, two essential pieces of equipment that form an urgent and shared need for the research consortium are applied for. These include state-of-the-art mouse IVC housing units and a new fluorescence microscope. The research consortium consists of the Laboratory for Thrombosis Research and PharmAbs (the KU Leuven Antibody Center) and combines promoters from the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences (Group Biomedical Sciences), the Department of Pharmaceutical and Pharmacological Sciences (Group Biomedical Sciences) and the Department of Chemistry (Group Science and Technology). This research consortium performs leading research in the field of thrombosis and hemostasis and forms a unique academic platform at KU Leuven that focuses on antibody research, development and production. The requested equipment is crucial for more than 20 ongoing FWO, IWT, KU Leuven, EU or other research projects.
