The Northern and Southern Netherlands as a literary and cultural 'entrepôt' for seventeenth-century British letters, 1603-1688 Ghent University
The project aims at providing a new perceptive on the continental backgrounds and contexts of 17C British literature through a close reading of a corpus of non-canonical texts written by English exiles, envoys, travellers and others who in the period 1603-1688 became associated with Netherlandic cultural centres that contributed to the diffusion of continental literary ideas.
