Active Mechanisms of Personality Change Across the Life Span Ghent University
The present proposal will investigate principles of the Five-Factor-Theory (McCrae & Costa, 1996) and the Social Investment Theory (Roberts & Wood, 2006), two leading theories on normative personality development. Hence, the contribution of genes versus environmental factors (e.g., life events) will be investigated, building on a twin sample from which personality data were already collected in 1997 and in 2000.
