Nanophotonic mode-locked laser using a heterogeneous III-V silicon material platform Ghent University
In this research a new type of mode-locked laser is investigated, based on the silicon-on-insulator materialsystem integrated with a III/V- membrane with quantum dots for active function. Besides striving for the limits of the technology (electrical or optical pumping, scalabitlity of cavity length using "slow light" structures,U+2026), also advanced applications in optical signal processing wil be studied.
