Involvement of the endoplasmic reticulum stress response in lung dendritic cell function and inflammatory lung disease Ghent University
Dendritic cells (DCs) are essential for the pathogenesis of inflammatory lung diseases. Many environmental triggers of lung diseases induce endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in lung cells.
We hypothesize that ER stress is an endogenous danger signal in DCs, which will impact in the development of lung inflammation. This project will unveil the relevance of the ER stress in lung DC subsets in vivo.
