Didactic Communities – Performing Moral Instruction across North-Western European Nobility in the High Middle Ages Ghent University
The project examines the dynamics of moral instruction of the lay nobility across North-Western Europe: northern France, the southern Low Countries, England and Germany. In a comparative approach, it focuses on the personal networks of the cultural elites as well as the role of vernacular literature in the promotion of noble values in the twelfth and thirteenth century.
