Marine ecosystem functioning under environmental change: a functional approach beyond species identity Ghent University
Copepods constitute a key link at the basis of marine food webs due to their high biomass and rich lipid content. The aim of this PhD is to understand how ocean warming affects benthic copepod functional trait trade-offs using a bioenergetic theoretical framework. Ultimately, such changes will alter the biomass and fatty acids available from copepods to higher trophic levels.
