  • Research Expertise:Dr. MALARVANNAN Govindan (Male), PhD is a senior researcher at the University of Antwerp. He has obtained a PhD in Environmental Chemistry at the Ehime University (Japan) in 2011. Since then, he has been involved at the Toxicological Centre in several activities related to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), biomonitoring, bioaccumulation and metabolism in humans and animal species. He is currently involved in the Flemish Environment and Health Biomonitoring program, HBM4EU project (European Human Biomonitoring Initiative), INTERWASTE RISE project, MeDIPlasticS project triboREMEDY project and INCH4U project, investigating a range of endocrine disruptors, including phthalates, bisphenol-A, phosphate- and brominated-flame retardants. He has published a number of 59 articles, 5 book chapters and H-index:20. (https://www.uantwerpen.be/en/staff/malarvannan-govindan/publications/.
  • Disciplines:Analytical separation and detection techniques, Aquatic chemistry, Aquatic sciences, challenges and pollution not elsewhere classified, Environmental chemistry, Environmental monitoring, Wildlife and habitat management, Separation techniques, Pharmaceutical analysis and quality assurance not elsewhere classified, Toxicogenomics, Other medical and health sciences not elsewhere classified
  • Research techniques:My research is involved in the analytical, environmental (wildlife, aquatic and terrestrial organisms) and toxicological aspects regarding the human exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals. I am involved in sample processing, data analyses and manuscript writing.
  • Users of research expertise:My research is also focused on environmental and biomonitoring studies designed to determine the distribution, behavior, fate, and effects of organic contaminants.
