Safe and high-performance food packaging in a circular economy (CIRCOPACK)

Companies are regularly confronted with questions about the sustainability and food safety of their packaged foods and there are currently few or no specific studies available that take into account the entire chain (raw material; use; end-of-life). The general objective is the development of a scan (decision support system) for companies to make more informed choices about sustainable materials management for food packaging. The project is aimed directly at 1) food producers, 2) producers of food packaging material with a focus on plastic and cardboard and 3) waste processors.
