Innovation for System Innovation (ISSI)

SSI is a collaboration of two transition networks: Plan C and DuWoBo. ISSI stands for 'Innovation Systems for System Innovation'. The transition towards a sustainable society requires the collaboration of governments, buisinesses, research institutions and civil society. Multi-stakeholder-networks often gocus on a specific "system" (eg. food, infrastructure, materials, energy, mobility, ...). The many sustainable challenges we face, require cross-system action and collaboration. With ISSI, Plan C en DuWoBo have askes i-propeller and the Cnetre of Sustainable Development (UGENT) to develop an ambitious project with three basic requirements:

'A common methodolgy to co-manage innovative experiment.

'A toolkit for the joint generation and management of networks (people) and ideas.

'To initiate new experiments through a open innovation trajectory.

the CDO will formulate policy recommendations based on the yielded results.

by the end of 2011 the first results of the unique scale of this project will be presenteed.
