BIO-SERVPrecision Medical Instrument Servoing based on In Vivo Biological Signals

Precision medicine is key to provide better and safer treatment. Robot-assisted surgery shows a great potential to push the frontier of current medical techniques offering levels of precision unmatched by any human experts. With small dimensions, the motion induced by physiological processes such as heartbeat or breathing can be problematic. BIO-SERV will pair advances in accurate, low-cost sensing technology to produce micrometer-accurate positioning relative to fragile living tissue. Applications in promising medical fields will be explored.
