  • Research Expertise:

In 2015, I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical and Biological Laboratory Technologies (Hogent). In order to obtain this degree, I have performed an internship at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in the field of aquatic ecotoxicology at the Centre for Functional Ecology (CFE). During this stay, I investigated the short-term toxicity effects of nanomaterials on the ecosystem by evaluating the ecologically meaningful feeding response in aquatic organisms.

In June 2019, I obtained my Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Vrije Unversiteit Brussel. In the context of my Master Thesis, I performed a study stay abroad at the University of Oslo, Norway at the Department Biosciences. The purpose of this project was to develop protein quantification methods for therapeutic proteins and their modifications in combination with liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.

Currently, I am doing my PhD at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. During this project, I am focussing on the orphan disease Alkaptonuria with the aim to develop a gene therapy.
