CoreTOM Ghent University
The TESCAN CoreTOM is the general purpose system of the UGCT Core Facility, optimized for high quality imaging of a wide range of samples. The scanner is equipped with a 180 kV X-ray tube and a large 2856×2856 pixels flat panel detector allowing for samples to be imaged at a spatial resolution down to 3 micron.
A great range of different sample sizes can be mounted, with up to 1 meter scannable height and a maximum sample weight of 45 kg. 9 motorized axis allow for multi-scale imaging using a global coordinate system integrated in both the acquisition and reconstruction software. ...

CORE ARTH Infinity - Preclinical medical imaging (CORE ARTH Infinity) Ghent University
Within the approved UGent core facility CORE ARTH (Animal facilities, Radiological Techniques, and Histology), the INFINITY lab (INnovative Flemish IN vivo Imaging TechnologY) offers advanced preclinical medical imaging devices, services and expertise for non-invasive in vivo medical imaging of laboratory animals. CORE ARTH INFINITY houses a wide range of state-of-the-art preclinical medical imaging devices. The following imaging technologies are available: positron emission tomography (PET), single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance ...
Multifunctionele verwerkingsapparatuur voor zowel conventionele als reactieve dubbelschroef-extrusie (MultiProc) (MultiProc) Ghent University
Reactive and conventional extruders require side feeders with powder & liquid supply. To allow for polymer processing temperatures up to 400 °C are needed. Rotation speeds > 1000 rpm are useful. Temperature and pressure control/measurements along the equipment are desired. The envisaged equipment covers these aspects and allows multifunctional processing of several materials.
The Social Study (TSS) Ghent University
The Social Study is an online data collection infrastructure developed by all Belgian universities. It was designed to promote longitudinal and interdisciplinary survey research in the social and behavioral sciences. The panel consists of approximately 4,000 individuals aged 16 and older living in private households in Belgium. Following similar online probability panels in the Netherlands, Germany and France, TSS offers the research community new opportunities for high-quality survey research in Belgium.
Panel members are recruited based on a two-stage random sample selected ...
Distributed System of Scientific Collections (DiSSCo-Vlaanderen) Ghent University
DiSSCo is a new world-class research infrastructure for the physical and digital management of European natural science collections with an overarching management and access policy. To make collections more visible and usable, associated data and media must become more findable, accessible, exchangeable and reusable (FAIR). DiSSCo represents the largest formal agreement ever between natural history museums, botanical gardens, zoos, universities and other institutions with collections, and enables the transformation of a fragmented landscape into an integrated knowledge base. DiSSCo ...
SCIEX ZenoTOF 7600 mass spectrometer Ghent University
The SCIEX ZenoTOF 7600 mass spectrometer includes a new fragmentation method, being Electron-Activated Dissociation (EAD). For proteome analysis, fragmentation of peptides, protein fragments and intact proteins is essential to identify these biomolecules.
Among other things, the Gevaert lab (https://cmb.vib.be/labs/gevaert-lab) investigates the amino-(N)terminal parts of proteins via a specialized proteomic technique, being N-terminomics. The identity and modifications of the N-termini of proteins determine, among other things, the stability, localization and collection of ...
