Organize distance laerning in the form of External Quality Assessment schemes. KU Leuven
The purpose of this overall project is to provide continous distance learning for diagnostic laboratories in the form of External Quality Assessment schemes that aim to improve laboratory performance by achieving or maintaining accreditation, and providing the necessary education and remedial measures to improve performance.
Evaluation of Scientific Publications to Predict the to be Expected Research Quality in Collaborations with External Service Providers KU Leuven
There is a strong trend in the pharmaceutical industry to externalize research and to outsource non-clinical studies to external service providers (academia, biotech, contract research organizations, etc.). At present, Janssen Pharmaceutica performs quality assessments of ESPs with the help of a self-assessment questionnaires to evaluate the risk towards biased study outcomes, data integrity and traceability required in non-clinical, non-GxP ...
How auditors' internal and external interactive relationships impact their judgment and decision-making: Experimental evidence on the underlying causes of good and poor audit quality KU Leuven
The intention of the studies centered around my PhD is to acquire a better understanding what exactly drives audit quality or could potentially impact it. In particular, the first study aims to investigate whether imitation behavior could to some extent have an impact. In particular, it is likely that junior auditors will mimic a senior when they first start on the job and thus issues could arise when this senior is not knowledgeable. It will ...
Model-based active thermography for contactless quality assessment in the agro-food industry KU Leuven
In the agro-food industry, there is an increasing demand for non-destructive quality inspection tools that allow to inspect every individual product. This is the result of an increased focus on food safety and quality over the past decades. Several fast, non-destructive and contactless technologies have been studied for food quality inspection, many of them based on the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with the food product. ...
EUROpean quality Controlled Harmonization Assuring Reproducible Monitoring and assessment of plastic pollution Research Institute for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food
A lack of harmonized methods for gathering and reporting data about microplastic pollution presents a major obstacle to the implementation of monitoring and mitigation actions. This is further hampered by a lack of clear guidelines on the purpose of these monitoring efforts. EUROqCHARM unites 15 key actors involved in studying and monitoring plastic pollution in Europe, under coordination of the Norwegian ...
External certification in the nonprofit sector: An examination of drivers and consequences. University of Antwerp
(How) Does output information from external monitoring enrich school policy and practice? Exploring factors that influence improvement-oriented use of school performance feedback from Flemish national assessments and parallel tests. University of Antwerp
Impact of external factors on band alignment of TMDs with SiO2: WS2 versus WSe2 and MoS2 KU Leuven
Over the past 50 years Si based integrated circuits have been downscaling tremendously to create faster logic chips and high-volume memory circuits. Such scaling required significant technological advances and innovative designs. Unfortunately, as transistor channel lengths have been approaching 10 nm, it became clear that such aggressive scaling would not be sustainable for Si based transistors. In looking for solutions one addresses more ...
How auditors' internal and external interactive relationships impact their judgment and decision-making KU Leuven
The aim of the research is to assess the exemplar behavior of auditors in charge of the audit when they perform an audit case. The first study aims to assess the interaction between junior and senior auditor especially the likelihood of the former in imitating the latter and how it affects the decision making of the former and the overall audit quality. The second study aims to assess the herding behavior of an auditor in a team. The third ...
