Spray coating for industrial production of polymer solar cells

Journal Contribution - Journal Article

Polymer solar cells promise a variety of new photovoltaic applications, such as the integration in clothing, in product packaging, or in curtains or wallpapers. For this to happen, the flexible, lightweight solar cells should be printable in a low-cost largescale roll-to-roll process. With the current spin coating technique this is not likely to come to pass. Spray coating would be a better alternative, but still has to take some hurdles. This article points out that the industrial manufacturing of polymer solar cells by spray coating is being well on the way.
