Project

Ultracompact CMOS based electrochemical biomolecular sensing

The goal of this PhD is to develop novel CMOS compatible sensing strategies for miniaturized and highly parallellized electrochemical sensing. Challenges include calibration-free operation, long-term stability of biorecognition elements, the selection and optimatization of electrochemical reporter and amplification strategies to maximize the signal and suppress parasitics. The parallellization and miniaturization of the devices, in consultation with circuit design teams and based on materials and technologies that are compatible with a CMOS fab environment for the fabrication of integrated sense amplifiers.
