Situated at the intersection of critical international relations and political sociology, the dissertation examines the European UnionU+2019s human rights promotion policies in the South Caucasus, and civil societyU+2019s role therein. The focus is on how EU-sponsored paradigms are performed, negotiated, contested by domestic human rights NGOs and activists on the ground, and the outcomes these multiscalar processes produce.
