Selective Implementation of Software Resilience Techniques to Increase Low-Level Code Reliability

This PhD will investigate techniques to make embedded systems more resilient against external disturbances. While continuing previous PhD projects, further optimization and new techniques are necessary to cope with both processing and memory overhead. The major driver in this PhD is the balance of extra instructions versus execution time and memory overhead. Therefore, so called selective implementation of known techniques and new selective techniques and approaches will be studied. Next to lowering the imposed overhead, this PhD will further develop compiler extensions to deal with the programming effort to implement the techniques.
