SECONDOS: Smart electro-optical components for the direction of solid-state light. (IWT591)

The main goal of this project is to demonstrate light steering components with a wide steering range, a high steering angle resolution and certain novel adaptive functionalities. To achieve this we will investigate the combination of micro-structured polymer components with liquid crystals. To tackle the technological challenge of large area components we will rely on the complementary expertise of the project partners and a recently acquired Advanced Polymer Prototyping Line for Micro-and Micro-Optical Systems
