Project

Scientific support for the development of the regional framework for the adoption of a binding social objective within the Flemish land and housing policy.

The Flemish Decree Land and property aims at providing affordable housing. During the preparation of this decree, the researchers are asked to put their knowledge on housing and spatial planning at the disposal of the Flemish administration. The research contains three parts: 1. The formulation of proposals for methods and indicators that can be used to establish the social objectives at the level of municipalities. 2. The conduction of case studies to verify that these social objectives correspond with the planned spatial structures. 3. A contribution to the development of a monitoring system that allows measuring wether the social objectives are achieved.
