The role of RNA in the TNF-induced reduced DNA binding of the glucocorticoid Receptor
Glucocorticoids are efficient anti-inflammatory drugs that work by binding to the Glucocorticoid Receptor. Unfortunately, in several inflammatory diseases, GC resistance forms a very important issue. TNF strongly reduces GR-DNA binding and as a consequence GR-induced transcription of GRE genes. This project involves the underlying mechanisme by focussing on GR-binding RNA which competes for the DNA binding.
