Project

The role of oxidative stress tolerance in the antibiotic resistance of biofilms formed by Gram-negative bacteria.

In this research project we will be investigating fundamental aspects related to the action of antibiotics against biofilms. In addition, in the long term our results could lead to the rational development of non-toxic agents that reduce the ability of biofilm cells todeal with ROS-related stress and could be used in combination with conventional bactericidal antibiotics.
