Project

Novel cross-link technologies to probe peptied-ligand/receptor interactions

The current project aims at the development of a new method for labelling of peptides and proteins and protein-protein crosslinking, using peptides containing an unnatural furylalanine amino acid building block. Upon selective oxidation of the furan moiety in aqueous media, a reactive enal functionality will be created, which can then further react with nearby nucleophilic entities on the proteins.
