A microfluidics approach towards contact-free laser-induced photoporation for cell-based therapies (3E014617)

Laser-induced photoporation is new technology to efficiently deliver compounds into living cells. Here we address the challenge to photoporate cells without the sensitizing nanoparticles being in direct contact with the cell membrane in order to minimize cell toxicity. The technical realization is based on microfluidics, starting with computer simulations followed by the construction and evaluation of dedicated microfluidic chips.
