Mass spectrometer for on-line LC-MS measurements.
A mass spectrometer allows to determine the molecular mass of natural, synthetic or recombinant proteins with high accuracy. In addition, these instruments allow to fragment proteins in order to obtain structural information on protein modifications. These modifications may affect the biological activity of cytokines, chemokines and proteases and influence their interactions in inflammatory reactions and cancer.
