Glycomarker in perfusate for the prediction of liver primary non function (Glycomarker PNF)

Primary non-function (PNF) of a liver after liver transplantation is a complete absence of liver function immediately after liver transplantation. It occurs in 3-8% of liver transplants and is a medical urgency that requires an urgent liver transplant within 24-48h. PNF is related to the quality of the donor liver. Unfortunately, there are no good biomarkers to evaluate the quality of the donor liver. We propose an alternative approach to estimate delivery quality. The aim of this project is to make the transition from a proof of concept of the glycomarker for PNF to a biomarker that can be implemented in routine clinical practice.
