Extracting structured event representations from social media

Social media offer a wealth of information, often complementary with respect to more tradiational

information sources (such as web pages from TV channels or journals). This research aims at extracting events from social media streams (typically Twitter), also extracting event attributes. Algorithms to achieve this will be evaluated through a posteriori knowledge gathered from parallel information channels.
