EPIDEMIOLOGICAL STUDY OF HEART FAILURE (ACUTE DECOMPENSATED HEART FAILURE AND CHRONIC AMBULATORY): PREVALENCE, CURRENT TREATMENT AND PROGNOSIS IN LUBUMBASHI D.R. CONGO (R-5037)

Heart failure is frequent in common practice. In Lubumbashi, in spite of rich subsoil, this region is in a low-income country where the total population living on less than one dollar a day, 0.5 hospital per 100,000 and exposed to important heavy metal pollution from mining companies. A study on the epidemiological pattern of heart failure in this particular city is proving to be important. - To describe the diagnostic and therapeutic approaches undertaken in the routine practice of Lubumbashi hospitals - To assess the in-hospital and out-of-hospital outcomes of patients with Heart Failure and to investigate the prognostic predictors of these outcomes.
