Creation of porous ceramics with hierarchical pores using capillary suspensions precursors for biological applications.

This project will investigate how porous ceramics with anisotropic pores can be created using capillary suspensions precursors for catalytic and/or biological applications. Hierarchical structures will be achieved using a combination of nano- and micro-particles, particles with mesoporosity, and integration with other methods such as 3D printing or freeze-casting. Advances functionality can be integrated through the use of active particles. Finally, composite materials such as polymer filled ceramics will be investigated.
