Countermeasures to protect hardware implementations of symmetric cryptographic algorithms against physical attacks

The main goal of the research is to contribute to countermeasures to protect hardware implementations of symmetric cryptographic algorithms against physical attacks. It can include both countermeasures against passive and active attacks. The research is aimed to study such concepts as masking, threshold implementations, randomness generation and many others in order to improve the security and performance of the hardware implementations against a more realistic adversary model. This contribution can help to define metrics for combined security and to develop procedures for their evaluation in the future.
