Databases and Theoretical Computer Science
Main organisation:Computer Sciences
Lifecycle:1 Jan 1990 → Today
Organisation profile:The Research Group Databases and Theoretical Computer Science is mainly active in the field of database theory. The context of databases must be interpreted very broadly, and is not restricted to standard relational database management systems. The general theme is the design and analysis of logical data models and associated query languages. This theme is applied to various kinds of systems, such as relational, object-oriented, geometrical, temporal, and web databases, data mining, etc. The group is also active in related fields of theoretical computer science (mathematical logic, complexity theory, algorithms), artificial intelligence (constraint satisfaction problems), and bioinformatics.
Keywords:BIOINFORMATICS, CONSTRAINT SATISFACTION PROBLEMS, DATA MINING, DATA ON THE WEB, DATABASE THEORY, FINITE MODEL THEORY, GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS, OBJECT-ORIENTED DATABASES, SCIENTIFIC DATA MANAGEMENT, SPATIO-TEMPORAL DATA
Disciplines:Artificial intelligence, Information sciences, Information systems, Programming languages, Theoretical computer science
