Project

Supporting compliance and better OSH practice through leverage in market-based initiatives. (EUOSHA)

The Lift-OSH project, funded by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA), is investigating market levers for improving worker safety and health in construction and food supply chains. The research aims to identify good practice and make recommendations for initiatives that ensure the safety and health of workers at all levels of value chains. The research is being conducted by an international consortium of universities in Denmark, Estonia, Ireland, Spain and Belgium. Researchers from KU Leuven are studying a case in the Belgian construction sector that can serve as an example of good practice ("best in class") and is inspiring because it uses (innovative) instruments, agreements, guidelines and tools that have the explicit objective of guaranteeing the safety and health of workers in the different links of the supply chain.
