Project

Inclusive Digital Transition (FOD123)

The project is part of a mission of the FPS Economy of the Belgium government within the context of inclusive digital transition and the strategy of reducing the digital gap and promoting digital inclusion. The aim of this research is twofold: (1) to elaborate the strategy of the FPS Economy on inclusive digital transition by defining and developing the strategic and operational objectives of the FPS Economy for its target audience (the economic actors, in particular the citizens, as consumers) and (2) to draw up an action plan based on this with concrete actions, operational and effective measures. The research therefore includes a comparative analysis of what is already happening in the field of inclusive digital transition in Europe as well as the current and planned actions in the economic field by the different levels of government and the different public and private actors in Belgium and a mapping of the specific obstacles and needs that exist for each category of vulnerable people within the area of competence of the FPS Economy. The research is carried out by the research centre SMIT (Studies in Media, Innovation and Technology - smit.vub.ac.be) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in collaboration with UGent and UCLouvain
