Probiont-induced functional responses in aquatic organisms

Bacteria will be isolated from fish larvae that are fed immunostimulating feed, that results in in vivo selection for probiotic microorganisms. These microbial communities will be characterized using DGGE. Afterwards, the effects of the host-microbial interactions will be verified on gene expression level and on the histological maturation of the gut.
