Creation of a reference centre for gastrointestinal tumours in Cambodia

With this project we intend to develop a surgical oncological reference centre with special intrest in gastrointestinal tumours. The Khmer-Soviet Friendship hospital (ASKH), a university linked hospital, will serve as the host hospital. The development objective is to improve public health care with an uplevelling of idagnosis, treatment and follow-up of gastrointestinal cancers. The academic objective contains the introduction of a scientific oncology programme with the creation of a reference centre for treatment of gastrointestinal (GI) cancer tumours, which will lead to a better understanding of cancer in general and its treatment in Cambodia in particular.
