Policing the informal economy: from policy to practice

This study examines how the official policy regarding tackling the informal economy is established and translated into practice. Inspectors giving shape to this policy in the field have discretionary space in their daily work. The focus of this study lies on how this discretionary space is used and on the factors that influence decisions of inspectors in the field.
