Project

Microfluidic electro-optical chip for particle manipulation and bio-molecule detection

This project aims at developing a novel technique to characterize nanoscale particles in a liquid. This technique involves the combination of optical tweezing with single particle electrophoresis. This novel combination has recently proved its sensitivity and accuracy. In a final stage, the technique will be miniaturized on-chip, resulting in a fully integrated microchip for single particle analysis. With this chip, the specific binding of biomolecules will be monitored.
