The court of brussels in the seventeenth century: the creation of the Maison Royale de Bruxelles

The composition of hte habsburg curt in Brussels depended largely on the regent's inshights. this changed around1660; since then the courtiers were nog longer identified as members of a governor's court, but rather as part of la Maiosn Royale de Bruxelles. This transition, form an ever-shifting body to a more permanent insitution, will be the focus of this visit.
