Data backup scheduling: a queueing-theoretic approach

Nowadays, we witness a tremendous growth in data produced and stored. To avoid loss of data, frequent backups should be planned. Due to the enormous amount of data and large number of users, efficient backup scheduling mechanisms are crucial for large companies and in cloud computing. In this project, we develop and evaluate backup scheduling mechanisms by means of a queueing-theoretic approach.
